Cracks that let the light in

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in.
~ Leonard Cohen

I'm inspired today to be thankful for the cracks. They do, indeed, let the light in. Here are three gifts I can be grateful for.

Today, my son who normally finds playdates difficult had a pretty reasonable time with a little boy down the street. If I'd never had a child who struggled with friends, I might not remember to be thankful for the interactions that go well.

Dealing with people who are occasionally difficult sheds light on my own reactions and challenges me to better ways of finding and expressing love.

My dinners are ordinary. So it's really really lovely to go out for tea with the family and not have to cook.

Is there anything 'cracked' in your life? Anything that lets in surprising light? What can you be thankful for?
