The liebster blog awards meme

Thank you Sophie for tagging me in the Liebster Blog award. I don't know how it really works but it looks like fun to do. I'm not sure if I can come up with 11 people to nominate, so if you'd like to take part let me know!

Definition: Liebster Award goes to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. Liebster is German for {so I am told} sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.

Here goes!

 Eleven things about me

1. Right now I have no energy to read fiction unless it's a fast paced, incredibly well written thriller, preferably by the master, Lee Child.
2. My life was changed by watching (and reading) Trinny and Susannah's advice on how to dress. Now I mostly look pretty reasonable. Before it was hit and miss.
3. I have a phobia of hearing people breathe loudly or snore or wheeze.
4. I also don't like to sit in the middle of a pew or line of seating. I need to feel that I can escape if I want to.
5. I don't really ever want to move back to the city.
6. I rarely wear red. I think it's too aggressive.
7. I'm happy to say I'm not (yet) going grey.
8. I really love drinking hot chocolate.
9. I have a constant need to see life from other people's points of view.
10. I find it hard to relax.
11. The best part of my day is hitting my extremely comfortable bed in the evening.

Now to answer Sophie's questions:

1. What's your earliest memory? Being 19 months old and going to the hospital to see my new baby brother after he was born. My big brother tried to lift me up to see into the glass-partitioned off nursery, but he couldn't reach so my grandma picked me up instead.
2. What relaxes you? A nice hot bath, a massage, a meditation CD and lavender oil. However, see point 9 above.
3. What was your pet's first name? I presume this means my first pet's name, not my pet's first name. I don't know too many pets with more than one name (although to be honest my current dog's name is Soren Barakah something else. He's a purebred and it's on the certificate...) So, the first dog we ever had was named Jodie. Sadly she got put down 'cos she bit my brother.
4. What's the easiest dessert you ever made? self saucing chocolate pudding. yummo.
5. When did you last have a date night? We went out to see flight of the conchords in concert a month ago. Before that? Not for a loooong time.
6. Favourite takeaway? Chips from Mariella's pizza shop in Kangaroo valley. Keeps the troops quiet.
7. Best experience of your life? There are many, many bests. Seeing Lake Saiful Maluk for the first time. Holiday weeks at Karachi Beach. Wedding day. The birth of my fourth child. Every day, seeing the sun and the clouds and the green green grass.
8. Funniest experience of your life? I did sit in a corner for half an hour once gasping for air because I was cracking up over a book about silly signs around the world. That was pretty funny. And I like Arj Barker and FOTC too. Amusing coincidence would have to be the fact that both my mother and mother in law to be bought identical dresses for my wedding. (They both ended up taking them back.)
9. Best movie ever? Quiz Show, Strictly Ballroom, Dead Poets Society
10. Books or E-reader? Paper, please!
11. Best investment ever made? I wish I could say I'd bought Apple shares back in the 1980s. Probably buying our first house. We bought and sold at the right time.
